NEVA Day 2

Russian shipping is in the news for more than just the NEVA 2009 Exhibition. Reports surfaced today that a Russian tanker avoided a pirate attack in the Gulf of Aden. According to the crew of the Prisco Alexandra, pirates fired on the tanker and attempted to board it when the crew issued a distress alert and began taking evasive maneuvers. The pirates were never able to board or gain control of the ship.

Amver
was happy to host several cadets from the Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy. The cadets were eager to learn about Amver and how they can work Amver into their curriculum.

Visit Amver in hall 7 stand 733.

Here is a short video of the days events.
